Ric Kaner is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at UCLA, Vice Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Associate Director of the California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI). Conducting polymer technology is one of Ric’s major research focus areas. Ric received an AB in chemistry from Brown University and his Ph.D in inorganic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. He is highly recognized in his field and honors include NSF Presidential Young Investigator; Exxon Fellow in Solid State Chemistry; Packard Fellow in Science and Engineering; Glenn T. Seaborg Research Award; Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow; John Simon Guggenheim Fellow.

 
chris_behrenbruch Chris Behrenbruch, Ph.D., MBA
Founder and Chief Business Advisor

Dr. Behrenbruch is a serial entrepreneur with broad experience in taking new technologies from the university laboratory to the market, particularly in bio/nanotechnology, healthcare IT and medical devices. Dr. Behrenbruch was formerly the managing partner at Momentum Biosciences, the angel syndicate that assisted with the "spin-out" of Fibron from UCLA. He currently serves as Chief Business Officer of the company and pro tempore CEO.

 
christina_baker Christina O. Baker, Ph.D.
Founder and Director of Operations

Christina Baker earned a B.S. in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and recently received her Ph.D in Chemistry from the Kaner lab. Her research has involved studying polyaniline nanofibers in composites and architectures for a wide variety of novel devices and applications.

 
henry_tran Henry Tran, Ph.D.
Founder and Director of Research and Development

Henry Tran earned a B.S. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and recently received his Ph.D in Chemistry from the Kaner lab. His research involved the development of novel nanoarchitectures of a broad range of conducting polymers including polyaniline, polypyrrole, polythiophene and derivatives of these polymers.

 
bruce_weiller Bruce Weiller, Ph.D.
Founder and Scientific Advisor

Bruce Weiller is a Senior Scientist at Aerospace Corporation. He received a BA in Chemistry from Clark University and a Ph.D from Cornell, followed by postdoctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of California at Berkeley. He has published over 100 publications, abstracts and patents. He has been a visiting scientist at the Institute of Microtechnology at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland and sits on numerous NSF, NASA and Chemistry journal review boards.
