Aqueous Dispersions

Our dispersions of polyaniline nanofibers are pure polymer in the doped (conducting), or dedoped (insulating) form.

doped
Polyaniline nanofibers in the doped, conducting form. The nanofibers are easily dispersed in deionized water. They appear green in solution.
undoped
Polyaniline nanofibers in the dedoped, nonconducting form in a stable water dispersion appear blue.
stable_disperstion
Conventional polyaniline polymerization yields aggregates, which precipitate from water and are difficult to process even in strong organic solvents

Polyaniline nanofibers and several of the other conducting polymer nanofibers we synthesize have excellent film forming properties and high transmittance when deposited in thin conductive films. Films can be spray coated, drop-cast, spin coated, screen printed, ink-jet printed, or painted onto substrates.
